Response to COVID-19

Daily Bread Food Bank has partnered with Toronto Public Library during the COVID-19 pandemic to distribute food at libraries near food banks that have had to close.

Eatonville Library will distribute food on:
Fridays May 29 and June 5,  2 pm – 4 pm

St. James Food Basket  will reopen on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.  in the Food Basket’s parking lot. To avoid mass gatherings, please do not arrive before 1 p.m. and leave promptly after picking up your food.

To ensure everyone’s safety, we will be operating under special COVID-19 protocol:

1. Physical-distancing must be strictly adhered to.

A distance of at least 6 feet  (2 arm lengths) must be kept between persons.

2. Mask use

Health officials recommend that people wear masks when out in public as it limits the transmission of the virus.  We appreciate your cooperation in keeping your fellow patrons and volunteers safe; please keep your mask covering your nose and mouth at all times while on Food Basket property.

3. Food will be distributed in prepackaged bags.

To safely and efficiently provide food to all patrons, we have decided to suspend our market-style distribution.  Prepackaged bags of food will be available for pick up; you will not be able to choose your food as usual until further notice.  We appreciate your patience and understanding.

4.  No indoor access

There will be absolutely no indoor, including washroom, access.

5. No lunch will be served.

Please remember to bring your own filled water bottles, especially in anticipation of hot days.

6. Suspension of Emergency Pick-up privileges.
